About the role:
The Head of Product Design will lead the end-to-end design vision across Acorns’ financial wellness tools. This position involves building intuitive, emotionally resonant products that address the psychological side of money, encouraging users to feel confident, hopeful, and in control.
The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative design culture, push beyond functional execution, and bring empathy and storytelling into every interaction. This is an opportunity to influence how financial empowerment is experienced at scale.
In this role you’ll be:
- Define and drive the overall product design strategy across platforms.
- Guide a distributed team of 8 designers and promote creative excellence across all product touchpoints.
- Oversee the full design lifecycle - from research and wireframes to high-fidelity delivery.
- Align design direction with business goals and customer needs.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all customer touchpoints.
- Partner with engineering and product to translate insights into effective user experiences.
About you:
- 12+ years of experience in product design, with a strong background in building and scaling a consumer-facing mobile product.
- 3+ years of leadership experience, managing and scaling distributed while staying hands-on when needed
- A robust portfolio demonstrating user-centered design and emotional storytelling.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
- Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and execution skills.
- Deep understanding of behavioral design and human psychology.

Compensation:
$241,000 – $260,500/year + equity and full benefits package.
